Craigsville Funeral Home

Our Story

Our History

Craigsville Funeral Home is owned and operated by John and Debbie Young. The Young’s purchased the business in 1997 and also own and operate McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home in Hot Springs. We commit ourselves to providing loving and compassionate service to everyone, and it is our sincere desire that you feel comfortable about the decisions you make and that you leave here with a feeling of satisfaction, honesty, and commitment.

Earl Zimmerman opened “Zimmerman Funeral Home” in Craigsville in 1932 in it’s present day location. In 1950, Louis Sensabaugh came on board making the name Sensabaugh Zimmerman Funeral Home. At that time, they ran a general store in one part of the building and operated the funeral home on the other side. The general store later became a flower shop. The funeral home was later purchased by John Hedberg, who added his name making the funeral home “Sensabaugh, Zimmerman, Hedberg Funeral Home.” In 1998, John and Debbie Young of Hot Springs purchased the funeral home. Wanting to make it a community service to it’s town, they changed the name to “Craigsville Funeral Home”. The flower shop was closed allowing for extra space and an additional viewing room to the facility. Multiple renovations have been made to enhance the funeral home, and the Young's are proud to offer this service to the Craigsville community, Augusta County, and the surrounding areas.
